Probably a tad unfair I think. Is there anyone that really believes we've managed the transfer window as well as we could have done?

It's generally been a crazy window and we've ended up doing some mixed business but I really don't get the clubs strategy. Too many players who will be found lacking are being retained and our targeting and urgency both need to be questioned. I'm not at all convinced by the business we've done for goalkeepers, full backs and (no) strikers. That includes new signings and contract decisions on last years players. Get to 3 games with no points and no goals and an already inflated market will know we are in a very poor negotiating position.

Shame on all you lot slagging the club off over this. We possibly saved the lads life through our medical procedures.

I wish the lad all the best with whatever treatment he needs to recover.

From what I understand his medical problems were known about by his club but they thought it didn't impact on him so he needs no treatment.

Totally agree. It does leave me thinking how bloody good are our medical team though? We gotta have some Doogie Howser level shit going there.

I championed us signing the French lad months before they did.
But the rest are dross at this level and will prove to be so come May.

Good spot re French player.

In pure panic mode (me not the club), I'd look at teams that exited the champions league this week initially and then Italy, Spain and Germany.

Thanks. Just went through the top scorer list in some European leagues.
Most players are still at their respective clubs if Paul Winstanley would like some urgent pointers ???

Of course. Let's hope he makes a full recovery.

Our medical team is clearly brilliant.

I think that it getting towards Ulloa or Crouch either to buy or 6 month loan if we want the same type of target man or Danny Ings on loan if we want a faster striker.

No no and no, we need strikers that can move and have played a bit of football in the last 2 years !

My first thoughts are with the player himself, his health is the most important thing. Well done to the medical team for being so rigorous also.
I have less sympathy for the club however. Leaving it late like we have leaves us open to this type of issue. Let's be frank we are currently staring down the barrel needing probably two strikers with a week to go. Prices and wages quoted now will undoubtedly rise and we are clearly a long way down our cluster list so what quality will we get.
I will always support this club but leaving signings late like we have has left us with half a team trying to adjust and will zero firepower.
We have made life difficult.

God this place depresses me some times. Some people seemed to think we deliberately decided to leave everything at the last minute when the truth is that nobody on here - or virtually nobody - has any idea whatsoever what has been going on behind closed doors.

This is professional football in 2017 in England, not some computer game where all you do is throw pretend money at another pretend club and you win the league.

To call for Winstanley to go is pathetic, a typical knee jerk reaction we see all too often and we would laugh at other clubs if they did that.

Maybe everything is his fault and he is even worse than Burke but my point is nobody knows, certainly none of the regular posters on here, including me.

Anybody who thinks that the club went about the recruitment in a haphazard amateur way doesn't know Tony Bloom and Paul Barber.

OK we may well have missed our main targets and we may have had a poor transfer window when the full results are in but don't throw blame around when you don't have a clue why it didn't work out how we all wanted it to.

And slagging off and writing off players who are still finding their feet in the toughest divison in the world after just two games is just plain ridiculous.

If you wanted everything to be perfect then I'm afraid you picked the wrong club to support. If you find that perfect club let me know but me, I'm sticking with the Albion. I trust TB and and PG to run the club in the way they think is right and if it goes wrong then I for one am not going to blame them. Certainly not till I know the full facts, not just the end result.

I'm not a fan, I'm a supporter.

But but the club clearly said the market wouldn't be so expensive towards the end of the window.
