Shouldn’t have let him go in my opinion (not being wise after the event - I said that at the time - he was better than Bulogan who we brought in, and was a good first reserve for Dunk/Duffy

Am I right in thinking CG s heart condition was as yet undiagnosed
When Duffy was brought in as an upgrade ,after CG got out muscled in a few aerial duels
Can’t recall the exact player
Perhaps CG s kicked on up there , after fully recovering from the condition ?
But I agree I don’t think we saw him hit his peak with us Only flashes

He was the business in terms of bossing the game. However, when he had a couple of shooting chances his kick was neither shot nor cross. Once he improves on that, he'll be a great player.

This was not his game, nor Lech's which played without 2 key players (Tiba - playmaker, in italian terms "medista" and Jakub Kamiński 18year old that is speculated to be sold for more money than Moder, he will debut in the national team in November as well). Rangers are so organised at the back that neither Lech, nor Celtic, nor Standard Liege could even shot on goal once. Impressive, Steve's work I mean

In Poland it is said that Brighton would buy out mid-season option with Moder. Lech should get points against Standard Liege but Benfica and Rangers in that disposition are out of reach so promotion is highly unlikely.

Someone mentioned that Lech is quite famous for his academy and it is true. There are currently many successful players in top5 leagues that derive from that place. Lewandowski wasn't actually Lech's academy product but still he was a top goal-scorer in Lech Poznań when Klopp took him to BVB (and later Bayern).

Don't be mislead by Moder's today attempts, he really can shoot from distance. He had a few really great games last month both in Lech and the national team, he looked a bit tired, not on his top notch.

Don't get me wrong. I am well excited by his signing. He also took a lovely free kick.

IIRC He was very keen to go as he could see only v limited game time. I think he came in for a game when Dunk was injured, but despite playing well, he was dropped again for the next game as Dunk was fit again. Hughton was pretty set on the D&D partnership

Goldson made his PL debut for the suspended Duffy (5 yellow cards) against Watford in December 2017, we won 1-0 and Connor had a decent game (I seem to remember he nearly scored but forced the Watford keeper into a good save), but he was back on the bench for the away game against Chelsea on boxing day. His next appearance in the league came in the home game against Chelsea when we went 5 at the back. His only other PL appearance that season was as a sub in the final game against Liverpool. He obviously wanted to play following his heart scare and we couldn't guarantee him game time so the club were never going to stand in his way when it came to a move.
