Really?? I thought we were a bit overloaded in that area already.

We didn't start with a natural DM. Lallana and Mwepu were the central midfiders and Biss came on in the second half. Maybe Potter is trying to mould Mwepu into Bissouma's role though, but I think he'd be better playnig alongside a more defensive midfilder rather than being the more defensive-minded midfielder.

Apparently, according to the Glasgow press, Rangers were playing a 'middle of the road' Premier League club.
Is that good or condescending crap.
I think I am happy with it but maybe The Argus should say that we played a good side in a really shitty league.

Rangers have to endure a Glasgow/Scottish press which focuses in a different direction and who do all they can to belittle anything which Rangers achieve. Had Rangers lost they would have been "out of their depth" OR, had they won, they would have been playing against a Brighton side missing 10 first teamers.:ffsparr:

Nope, the Argus in true, haven’t got a clue what we’re on about style published this….

“ The Seagulls were without nine players for the match in Robert Sanchez, Tariq Lamptey, Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk, Ben White, Joel Veltman, Leandro Trossard,Jakub Moder and Danny Welbeck.

However, they managed to hold onto a point”

A point

It’s a bloody friendly

for the first friendly match of preseason, against the Scottish champions penultimate, I thought it was a pretty decent performance, first half more so. Considering a few years go our traditional first friendly was against Worthing, and no disrespect to them, to be playing Rangers shows a huge step up. The fact that with most of the first team missing, and a scratch back line for the escond half I think we should all be quite happy.

The new boys showed great promise, the youngsters (especially Khadra) looked ready for the step up,

This was never going to be a classic end to end thriller, but it was a great workout and first half was quite entertaining

That’s a bit harsh to be calling out players considering it was a typical early preseason, getting your fitness up type of game. You could have said the same for most of them today.

This was an excellent run out against a team who start their season next weekend and have important CL games coming yet could not break us down. First half we were inevitably better with AL and Gross in the team. We fielded a very inexperienced back line and our 3rd choice keeper in the 2nd half and despite all their possession, they created one or two decent chances. We looked nicely organised in the 2nd half even though there was not much going forward. As mentioned earlier, Welbeck dropping out must have scuppered the pre-game plans.

Like the look of the computer and the youngsters in the first half, Khedra, Zeqiri etc looked lively.

Rangers were without there top two strikers and started with only two first team regulars. In addition a number of players have only just come back from Euros action not yet up to speed and Morelos is not even back from Copa America. First teamers came on second half most not up to speed.

Whatever it’s dressed up, they are ahead of us in terms of preparation, and they significantly strengthened their team in the second half against our reserve/younger players.

Result irrelevant as is the performance really . You want pre season games that make you think and work to improve .

We do need a new striker though

And we do need to be lucky with injuries
