LOL. When I was on Mastermind my second specialist subject was the history of Sussex cricket club (sadly I never reached that stage),

Don Bates used to teach PE at Moulsecoomb school after he retired from cricket, I saw him reffing school matches there sometimes.

Ken Suttle was on Chelsea's books but didn't play a first team game for them

From the same era, Ian Thompson who once took 10 wickets in an innings for Sussex at the Manor Ground in Worthing (but you'll know this!), turned up at my son's school as a supply teacher. My lad described him as 'some old guy who used to play cricket'. He's his mother's son.
