Our Albion supporters coach broke down on the M25 on the way up to Doncaster once. A new coach had to be driven up from Brighton to replace it.

Used to work in Addlestone (hence name Surrey Jim) and commuted on it every day.

A few years back remember a crash whereby a lorry involved caught fire. i was about 1/4 mile behind the scene, both carrigeways were closed and was stuck stationary for over 4hrs while the surface was retarmacked.

I did a job in Addington once. Came off the M25 and went over the Caterham by-pass to get there. Used to knock about with a girl from Caterham also

When I used to use it a lot I once joined at jct 9 about 7.30am ona Monday morning and was going towards Heathrow when suddenly and old boy in his MK II Escort doing 60mph on the outside lane got y
the hump with a chap in a jag flshing him so he just stopped and jumped out of the car to remonstrate with the jag driver you can guess the outcome, terrible shunting accident.

When I used to commute to the badlans of East croydon, in the mid 70's, I was able to watch the M25 being built. Riveting.

I have always aid that if I was a terrorist I would plant a bomb on the M25 about 6.00am Monday morning and then phone a warning to the police about 6.30 saying it was on the M25 you find it. That would put most of the country south of the midlands at a standstill as they would have to close every exit and divert traffic. It would cause chaos backing up the M2 M20, M23, M1, M4 M40 M11 and all main a roads coming off of it.

its always intruiged me why planes and air ports are seen as a big target when the everyday mundane transport has a much bigger effect. they showed this with the tube bombings ofcourse.

Abort, retry, fail
I really hate the road surface between junctions 8 and 10. It's all bumpy and horrible.

It is almost the same feeling as when your tyre is about to burst. I was in a car that burst it's back wheel and we spun three times and mashed the car up. I really really really hate that stretch.

Had a windscreen shatter whilst driving in the middle lane approaching Thurrock exit. I had to punch a hole in the windscreen to see to get over to the hard shoulder. Wife and baby in the car with me.. scary.
