July was the hottest month the world has known apparently, well at least since records began anyway (1880ish). That probably has something to do with it.

We are getting thunderstorms here already and our winter has been extremely mild. 27 degrees today and we would not usually expect that sort of temperature or storms until October/November. All the spring flowers are out and have been out for a while - at least 6 weeks early.

Back in Sussex
We've just returned back to Sussex, cutting short what was supposed to be a week camping in Dorset. We were supposed to be there until Friday, but the tent was getting slightly leaky and the rain generally putting a dampener on everything. That said, we did spend 3 of the 4 nights sitting out around a fire until late into the evening.

The campsite had no connectivity about 95% of the time which has made the last few days very strange. Normally just catching up with the Albion result is all I'd feel the need to do, but with the horrific happenings in Shoreham on Saturday, and the impact on the wider Albion family, it's been very strange and difficult feeling so disconnected.

My wife says you should get yourself a decent tent.

But then she is heavily into tent porn.

By the seaside in West Somerset
it was pissing down for the last few days in Somerset. Now back in the delightful West Midlands not a million miles from Walsall and I'm sorting out my Mac and gumboots for tonight :(

Got back from Provence on Sunday. Was teased with a little bit of sun outside the Preston Park tavern on that day, and then this. I bloody hate winter. And it feels like bloody winter!
