I was impressed when their sister company almost managed to delay the league cup final thru being incompetent.

On a train...
20 July 2007

Train services on all routes are being disrupted due to flooding.

Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 120 minutes can be expected.

Further Information:

As a result of the severe weather today all Southern services will be severely disrupted for the rest of the day.
There is a landslip in the South Croydon area which is causing congestion on the network and also means that no services can operate between East Croydon and Oxted.

East Grinstead passengers are advised to travel via Three Bridges and then by bus. Metro Bus Routes 281/291 are also passing ticket holders to East Grinstead from Three Bridges.

Uckfield line passengers are advised to travel via Purley and then by bus to Oxted.

However, due to the extensive road flooding and resultant congestion we cannot guarantee onward road connections.

Passengers for Caterham and Tattenham lines should change at Purley.

All other Metro routes are open but subject to a number of speed restrictions, and are therefore subject to severe delays.

Main line services to the SussexCoast are operating but again subject to severe delay and cancellation, due to the partial line blockage at South Croydon and other flooded sites.

There is no service on the Clapham to Watford route due to flooding.

London Buses and London Underground are accepting Southern Ticket Holders on all routes, as are South Easten Trains & South West Trains. However, widespread disruption is being experienced on most routes in the region.

We apologise to passengers that we cannot guarantee connections this evening and regret that many journeys will be severely extended.

Got stuck at Gatwick station today and I have to say the station announcer was really bordering on incompetent and it's no wonder passengers ( or customers as they're now known ) get pissed off. He managed to announce the arrival of a train that did'nt, And then announced there were no trains south of East Croydon heading towards Brighton about 2 minutes before one pulled in heading for Brighton. :nono:

I left Reading at 14:00 and eventually went via London after several false starts and arrived in Shoreham at 20:00

There was a couple of right twattwattwats on my cattle truck out of Victoria (dunno 1630 or something that was patently the first one heading Brightonwards about an hour later than that).

The tactics of these muppets is to announce very loudly to everyone within earshot 'I AM GETTING ON THIS TRAIN' then sort of just mega-barge their way on totally oblivious to anything else, including the fact that they are complete ****s and that people all around are wishing them a slow and painful death.
