Potter can have the 20-22 players he wants to work with. Can name an extra 3-5 to add numbers (and hit the PL25), make sure the 8 homegrown quota is hit and then monumentally piss-off the rest! Chelsea look like they’re willing to suck up millions in wasted player salaries as part of their long term project. Remember, this is the club who had 40 (or was it 400) players on loanI mean, this was always going to be the issue, right? Potter always said his ideal squad size was 20-22 players because then you have a really lean group, all focused on the job at hand.
As I mentioned on the Trossard thread, they currently have about 9 attacking midfielders and they keep adding more! It'll be interesting to see whether Potter, Winstanley and MacCauley can influence their approach to build a more balanced squad of talented ex-Brighton players or persist with their "Who's name is mentioned most on the BBC website so throw stupid money at them" one
