OK the Conway loan runs out in December. But being as he's doing ok, its quite likely his loan will be extended being as he'll be settled here and familiar with the squad and the way we play. And even if he did go back, I'd rather see one of our own youngsters like March being given an opportunity, rather than one of Liverpools. Lets face it, Stirling has already played in the Prem and for England, so he's hardly going to look on a move down to the Championship as an opportunity to prove himself. Can't see him busting a gut for the Albion, unlike one of our own.

You want Solly March over Raheem Sterling ?

Sorry, but id take Sterling a million times over an unproven March right now. Solly needs a loan spell - much like JFC at Oxford last year.

We're talking about January though. I would expect us to have Buckley, Conway and Orlandi available by then, and possibly KLL. Even without all of those four, Dave can do a job (abeit not very quickly), and god forbid we ever give Solly March a runout.

Of all the positions come January, barring another crisis hitting most of the above, I think out wide is a pretty low priority for us. Stirling would be a waste of a loan.

Orlandi isn't really a winger. Oscar used him as the furthest forward central midfielder in pretty much all the pre-season games, and ruddy good he looked there too.

Conway will be gone, leaving us TWO genuine wingers. You want 4, ideally.

Yes, I'd rather see one of our youngsters getting some first team action here than one of Liverpools. Loan players are here to plug gaps, they shouldn't be the basis for building a team. I'd rather Oscar was looking to our own before looking for cameos from Premiership benchwarmers.

We don't KNOW that Conway will be gone do we. If we're still struggling injurywise for wide players then I'd rather we extended his deal and look within our own squad, rather than take an (expensive) punt on bringing in someone like Sterling short term.

I honestly think Conway will be here at least to the end of the season, In fact it wouldn't surprise me if we sign him on a permanent contract in January. It was only a few weeks ago he mentioned that he's just moved into a house down this way with his family so I can't see that he would go to that trouble for just a couple of months.

I'd heard this too - a report from one of the web's Liverpool regulars who has a history of being on the mark reasonably frequently. Hardly gives it legs, but I thought I'd at least back up the OP insofar as he's not just made it up himself.

Weren't we rumoured to be in for him late last season/this pre-season?

I believe so, but can't remember if the rumour at that time had any substance.

Pretty sure that this same rumour was spoken about last season. Maybe there is genuine interest in him and the rumour is being re-cycled.....or its all total bull

Are we also likely to sign Bale for the other wing as more or less as likely? Perhaps Ozil for the middle as he's only in Arsenal's first team and doesn't play EVERY game. Could probably do a job for a few months
