He didn't alienate his fanbase. He managed to upset a load of precious fools with a throwaway comment about a sport that is entirely unrelated to tennis. Some people really need to get a grip if they can't take it on the chin. Anyway, I am sure he couldn't care less. He did very well this tournament and the Henman faithful took to him with his remarkable comeback against Gasquet.
