there had previously been an attack at that a & e department by a member of the public on a patient in military uniform. Staff were aware of this and offered the raf man the option of waiting for treatment out of view of the public. He accepted the offer and thanked them.

What was wrong with that?
the fact they were attacked in the first place  I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IS A REASONABLE EXCUSE :nono:

The prime responsibility of NHS staff is the health and safety of patients. It's a sad fact that violence in A&E Departments is a regular phenomenon, offer caused by people with real mental health issues. By all means condemn the perpetrators, but give credit to the NHS staff who intervene to minimise the risks.

shouldn't they be putting those people in other rooms or would that be discriminating, as you say health and safety of patients

yes but not in this instance, but then again we don't know the circumstances of the previous attack at this hospital do we, so to say it may have been some one with mental health issues is clutching at straws

So... tell us what YOU know about the perpetrators of previous incidents.

I don't think this reflects poorly on the Trust at all. They were concerned for his welfare.

Shame its come to this, mind.

another complete cop out, British SOLDIER IN UNIFORM ASKED IF HE WOULD LIKE TO BE MOVED FOR HIS OWN SAFETY IN A HOSPITAL IN HIS OWN COUNTRY ................ HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME
