RAF Regiment Gunner - Missing since Saturday (Suffolk)

Silly old bat
I know of a couple whose son disappeared for 6 years. He was finally found earlier this year, in Spain. He'd had a complete breakdown, & is still having treatment now, back in the UK.

He doesn't know. It wasn't confirmed until after he went missing.

I get that, just all very odd about the disappearance in general the cctv seeing him go into a dead end several cars leaving a burnt out car a few days later close by the mother reported said she knew about and the phone traced to a bin lorry it is all very you have guessed it odd.

Detectives looking for missing airman Corrie Mckeague are to search a landfill site.
The RAF serviceman vanished after a night out in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on 24 September.
A bin lorry made a collection in the area a short time after the last sighting of the 23-year-old.
Det Supt Katie Elliott said searching the site in Milton, Cambridgeshire, was "the next logical step."

Police will begin the search of more than 920 square metres of waste on 22 February.
It is expected to take a team of specialist officers up to 10 weeks to complete.
Mr Mckeague was last seen walking into a bin loading bay known as the "horseshoe" at 03:25.

Corrie Mckeague was last seen walking alone in Bury St Edmunds
A bin lorry was seized early in the early stages of the investigation after Mr Mckeague's phone signal followed the same route as the vehicle.
No traces of Mr Mckeague were found on the lorry and the landfill site was never searched.
Det Supt Elliott said: "While the search may not provide the answers as to what happened it is something we need to do as our investigation continues."
Mr Mckeague, from Dunfermline, is based at RAF Honington.

And it's taken til now to join the dots? FFS. I had assumed that they'd totally ruled out all the bin lorries months ago...

They are searching a separate landfill site, not the originally investigated recycling centre.

Yep, I knew that...but you'd have thought that they would have followed up all leads concerning bin lorries when the last sighting of him was when he was pissed, entering a "bin loading bay" at 03:25, wouldn't you? Especially after the mobile phone travelling to Barton Mills proved fruitless.

Corrie McKeague: Police make arrest in case of missing RAF man

Police investigating missing Corrie McKeague have arrested a man on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The 23-year-old gunner, who was stationed at RAF Honington in Suffolk, vanished on a night out in Bury St Edmunds in September last year.

Police said the man was arrested today and is 26 years old.

A statement said: "He has been taken into custody where he will be interviewed on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice relating to information provided to the investigation."

He is not the driver of the bin lorry that collected rubbish from the area where Mr McKeague was last seen, added police.
