Did it not work as it was on 5 Live Sports Extra rather than Radio Sussex?I listen to the game on BBC Sounds app. It used to be unavailable but seems to work this season. Delay is about 45 seconds.
You can listen to it on line - but not to match day commentaries. You can, though, listen to the the Radio Sussex commentary through the Albion website (go to MyAlbion Play - matchday commentary).Geeky question here.
Can you get radio Sussex outside of Sussex (in London) live?
I want to get Brighton commentary live without delay.
Thanks in advance
It’s a good answer and a good service via the radio or online but @dwayne is after some tech magic to fix his particular problem of the dodgy streams he uses to watch Albion games having foreign commentary and/or a time lag and the fact that he lives outside Sussex. You can listen to it on line - but not to match day commentaries. Oh right. I just listen, don't use dodgy streams. It’s a good answer and a good service via the radio or online but @dwayne is after some tech magic to fix his particular problem of the dodgy streams he uses to watch Albion games having foreign commentary and/or a time lag and the fact that he lives outside Sussex.
Same here in Birmingham. Listened to radio Sussex without any problem via BBC sounds app. The club site didn't work last night for meWas working fine when I listened to it last night from my home in London
The Albion player thingie wasn't working for me for some reason so I was googling like mad for options and somehow found radio Sussex broadcasting the commentary. Don't think you can find it direct through the Sounds UI but that link I provided worked for me.
As for the streaming delay not syncing with the video feed - maybe it would be easier to try and add a little delay to the stream instead? I know Twitch and YouTube have this kind of option so maybe Dodgy Dutch does too?
Didn't it used to be on MW as well which seemed to make it easier to pick up in London. FM not so good for longer distances, and lots of competing services as you say.I used to be able to pick in up in Clapham very weakly, then ran it through some computer software to make it listenable.
Haven't tried for years, but you'd need a very good receiver and aerial. They simply don't make them like anymore unless it's specialist.
The likelihood these days is that a local London station is using a similar frequency and would just drown it out.
So I'd say yes in the past but not today.

That's pretty much your spot on correct answer right there ^.With a really good aerial, and the right atmospherics, and without anything to interfere with the signal, maybe.
I used to listen to the occasional game on Radio Sussex from my top floor flat at the brow of a hill in Blackheath. If you're in a valley in NW London I imagine you'd have no chance.
