Well, are they? What’s been missed and what shouldn’t even be in the list?

At least I know and have heard all of them!

Looks like a pretty good and wide selection to me. Gonna have to think about ones that didn’t make it that should have imo. I may have gone for Graceland as my No 1

Artist Title
1) U2 The Joshua Tree
2) Dire Straits Brothers In Arms
3) The Stone Roses The Stone Roses
4) Michael Jackson Thriller
5) Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction
6) The Human League Dare
7) The Smiths The Queen Is Dead
8) Paul Simon Graceland
9) ABC Lexicon Of Love
10) Prince Purple Rain

Obviously just my top ten that touched the charts at some point all be not high, considering some of them were essentially indie releases that sold so much they got in the actual charts.

1: The Cramps - Off the bone
2: The Meteors - In Heaven
3: The Smiths - Meat is Murder
4: The Specials - More Specials
5: The Smiths - The Smiths
6: Polecats - Polecats Are Go
7: Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
8: The Housemartins - London 0 Hull 4
9: The Meteors - Wreckin Crew
10: King Kurt - Big Cock

Both are 1979. More Specials is an excellent LP and was early 80s.

Ah, I made the mistake of associating my first year at big school with the sound of Madness and buzz cuts everywhere in 1980

Madness was released in November 1979, but stayed in the charts for close to a year, but I will change it

I liked ABC at the time, but now I would doubt the top 10 status. Was/am not a Paul Simon fan but he is rightly included. So I must think about who I should award the one place to..........

Surely at least one from these 10?

The Works, The Game and The Miracle by Queen.
Crest of a Knave and Broadsword and the Beast by Jethro Tull.
Zenyatta Mondatta by The Police
Business as Usual by Men at Work
Nick of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Guitar Town and Copperhead Road by Steve Earle as you might expect from me.

I thought of the Police, but their first 2 albums are best and both late 70's

I don't think I have many 80's albums I actually listen too, although 80-82 was great for singles and one hit wonders. Dep S Is Vic there, vapours - Turning Japanese, MArth and the Muffins - Echo beach being good examples.

XTC Black sea
Lenny Kravitz let love rule

these are a good album.

The Wonderstuff - 8 Legged Groove Machine.
Pop Will Eat Itself - Box Frenzy.

See the difference between me and most of you lot is I don't retrofit for show :lolol:

Edit 4 down 6 to go:-

The Cropdusters - If only the sober go to heaven.

Edit II woooow wow we're half way there
and proof that I can be reflective
