Paula Radcliffe has confirmed she will definitely run in the Olympic 10,000m.
Radcliffe has made a full recovery after quitting Sunday's marathon four miles from the end and will line up for the 1950BST start on Friday.

She is the fastest woman in the world this year over 10,000m by 26 seconds and the 30-year-old will be keen to hit back after her marathon failure.

Radcliffe was fourth in the race at the Sydney Olympics four years ago after being outpaced on the final lap.

On Monday Radcliffe told a news conference: "I came to run and win the marathon.

"I am desperate to redeem something from all that work but I will not put myself into that arena if I am not right."

lets hope she wins then. but also that Kelly Holmes wins on Saturday, which would be an enormous achievement, arguably better than anything Radcliffe will do even if she wins tonight

She won't win, the Etheopians will grind her down and leave her in their wake, 4th plae at best. She should watch it on TV like everyone else.

See? I KNEW she wasn't exhausted! It was all part of a cunning master plan to win the 10,000 and sow discord on NSC. Is she a Palace fan I wonder? Anyway all the best to her.

I just hope that when the third placed bird runs past her this time she will have the common decency to finish the race.

The point about running tonight is that it shows she's got guts and is not a quitter.

Thousands of British fans who spent a lot of money to get to Athens went to that new stadium a few days ago and didn't get to see their heroine. Now they will.

It matters not if the African runners ousprint her on the final lap, this is a win-win situation for Paula, anyone associated with those quitter T-shirts now will look very stupid.

Hicham El Guerrouj has dominated his event as much as Paula but has suffered as many, if not more, Olympic flops than her. He has kept going and got his reward - so will Paula, tonight, or in 4 years' time.

The point being that it is a win/win situation. It doesnt mean that she has guts or isnt still a quitter. A few quiet words from her multi million pound sponsors and off she goes to the track to be the glorious British heroine/gallant loser, delete as applicable.
