Dead cows shut down rail line

Train services have been severely disrupted after five cows died on tracks.

The animals were discovered near Southease station on the line between Lewes and Seaford at 9.30am.

No explanation has yet been given for how the cows got onto the tracks or how they died but it has been confirmed that electric rails were switched off so they could be removed.

Replacement bus services have been in place for passengers.

RIP cows.
