Brighton & Hove Albions Season: 11.08.2007 - 08.04.2008

We regretfully announce the sad passing of the Albions season 2007-08 on 8th April 2008. Although suffering from ill health over Christmas, the Albion rallied and showed good health throughout the course of this year, but after being taken suddenly and unexpectedly ill again over the weekend, the Albions season was rushed to hospital on Saturday night, but tragically never regained conciousness. The season was finally officially announced dead on Tuesday evening April 8th at 8.15pm. Fondly remembered, the Albions season leaves behind five and a half thousand moaners, who are invited to attend a short service followed by a wake at Withdean Stadium on 19th April at 3pm and again on 3rd May.

Still think it has been a good season and we are moving forward.

RIP Gone and probably forgotten....soon.

I shall not be in attendance for the first of the Withdean wakes (as I can't be arsed), but shall shed a tear at the Theatre of Trees for the Swansea game.

Agreed 100% and we can and WILL improve again next season

Bear in mind last year we flirted with relegation at least we have flirted with the play offs this year.

The Old Season is dead - long live the New Season (08/09). The Play-offs would have been nice, but I think we all know that we're not good enough (yet). At times we have played some excellent stuff, but on many occasions we failed to dominate against relatively poor opposition.

However the current season ends, I'll be looking forward to 2008/09 with a new sense of optimism - the prospect of a top 6 place, whilst watching the foundations going in at Falmer. Sounds good to me.

Amen to that.

A bit more competition in various places and we may start to dominatepoor teams. Looking forward to watching the Falmer-Cam daily!

Good call. Maybe the music should be different that day - I'm thinking Candle in the Wind, Abide With Me, that sort of thing. It's not a day for The Clash. And don't forget the vol-au-vents, and those cheese and pineapple things.

Although we don't look in a great position for the play-off's you always have to believe or what's the point.

So bring on Luton.

If it doesn't happen then i still think we have had overachieved this year and if we hadn't had the disruption to the midfield maybe we could have been more consistent.

Millwall on Boxing Day. The day it all went wrong. In so many ways.

Maybe a few of the fringe players like Sullivan, Dixon and McFaul will be given a chance to show what they can do now the play off chance has gone?

Some ham sandwiches would be appropriate too. But no mustard on mine...

As the other posters rightly say, now is the time to sort contracts out and who's in/out.

This isn't a SHIP OUT everyone type comment, but the sooner we sort those things, the sooner we can plan. Normally(for whatever reason) we don't put the list out till late May. Some clubs have already confirmed who is in/out(Coventry for example). We miss a trick sometimes by being one step behind the game, so if someone like Bertin fucks us about in July, we haven't had a chance to look through other options.

We can improve next season but we need to be tighter. We can't afford to have a transitional 6 weeks at the start of the season where we drop points due to players not settling in/being brought in at the last moment.
