One of the first rock drummers to indulge in the drum solo, one to enjoy. RIP
Yeah, Herman mentioned that at the gig - and Schenker rocked up for some Scorpions numbers.
Just hoping he'll get tempted to do a few turns down The Neptune, sometime.
Fabulous player with that unique half engaged Wah tone. Recently came across an old C90 cassette tape with Reading 1982 on it. The version of Lost Horizons is just incredible. He really should have had an even bigger career but has had well publicised issues with drink and currently doesn't half look skinny.
By all accounts Herman lives in Brighton and more importantly so does Michael Schenker
Fabulous drummer, but not a very nice person, by all accounts.
Saw him recently in the Drum Legends gig at the Dome, alongside Pete Yorke and Herman Rarebell. He wasn't looking too good, then.
R.I.P. Ginger.
As an aside, anyone going to see Music of Cream on Thursday? Has his son, Kofi Baker on drums, alongside Malcolm Bruce (Jack's son) and Will Johns (Clapton's nephew).
They're pretty damn good.
aaahhhw **** ...!! great drummer ....possibly the best....
Well he certainly thought he was. Disappointingly disparaging of Led Zep's John Bonham which irks me more than it probably should.
RIP Ginger
Passed away this morning.
A third of one the finest three-piece bands ever
Whereabouts?
Very sad news, one of the truly greats of rock music and a personal drumming hero of mine .
Anybody else recall Cream gig at the Top Rank Suite back in the day? Absolute magic!
