Haven't felt the inclination towards cigs since I took to vape. But still not sure it's doing we any good.

8 days with no cigarettes. Set myself the goal of the whole month, but if I can make it till then, I'd obviously keep going...

How's it going?

I had a relapse when I returned to work , but snapped out of it and no cigarettes for six weeks now . It’s bloody hard going , but I’ve kept the second giving up to myself - so I have not had to have any cigarette related conversations

Had my last one new years eve and still going strong! Actually havent had a drink either and I think the two are connected so the real test will be when the pubs open!

Hang in there guys you can do it. I think on average it takes 3 attempts to quit, so don’t be disheartened if you’ve relapsed.

Everyone has their own path. For me, patches and nicotine gum was not good. It just kept me hooked on nicotine in a different way, and still had the cravings when going to the pub etc.

Cold turkey is the way. Brutal in short term, but cleanest way to break addiction.

That’s impressive I smoke at work more than anywhere else and not really sure I could function at 100% without my problem solving fag breaks.

Good luck. I haven't smoked for 18 years now. I tried many times before often using things like patches, gum or lozenges. This time I used willpower and that's why I think it worked. It took around 2 weeks for my cravings to subside and after that I didn't really think about it, even when in the company of smokers.

Currently vaping but will be lowering the nicotine promptly

Feel significantly better already

Good luck to anyone who has quit recently or considering it now

Good luck. Seven years smoke free, still feel the pangs several times a day, most days, Walking past a smoker happily puffing away sets me off every time.

Quit for a month last year, was pretty nice tbh and going to do it again. Not going to vape or similar when I do as it too similar to smoking, but I will certainly do a shitload of snus.

It'll be tough, but stick with it. We all have different ways, but you have already done the worst - the first 1,2,3,4 days etc

About 14 years now for me (honestly can't remember) but I'm still only one away from being a smoker (I know, from experience) the pangs become less, but the last one I had was probably over a year ago for less than 2 seconds.

Find something that will take your attention for 45 seconds and you can do it

Gave up about 3 or 4 months ago with the help of hypnotherapy. First week was still a bit tricky then after 2 weeks tried a fag to see if I still enjoyed it. It was fecking horrible.
Like GT49er still have an urge now and again but it’s not that desperate longing any more and quite easy to ignore.
