If the Tories form the next government it will not be because they have won the election but because Labour has lost it.

I dunno. It is like the latter days of Thatcher - the country wanted a change. On that occasion replacing her with Major worked. As it happens Brown makes Major look like JFK. But Blair would not win the next election had he stayed - and there is no-one else is there ?

The country wanted a change because of her attitude as much as her policies. I think Gordon Brown is fundamentally a good politician, but a bit like a coach who cant step up to manager, should have stayed as Chancellor. A lot of stuff beyond his control has happened since he took over and its obvious Blair had an idea what was gonna happen.Very good point about there not being anyone else obvious though.

Shit.

Hislop was razor sharp - probably his best QT appearance.

Harman looked like she was just tired out by the whole business of government and ready for a lie-down. Duncan was pretty unimpressive, for someone who should have had several open goals to aim at.

The spod from Next was actually quite articulate and made some good contributions.

All in all - one of the best editions I can remember for some years.

I think that just about sums the show up perfectly. Not impressed with Alan Duncan and Harman looked tired, if she's the PM in waiting we are in BIG trouble.

I would just add that I thought the Lib Dem woman very poor. There just isn't a big enough fence made for that party to sit on. Remember this is the Party who wanted to add 1p on Tax to pay for improvements to education, but now wants 4p taken off the basic rate, but hasn't got a scooby do how to pay for it.
