For those of you who attended the England v italy B international at the Goldstone. The front cover of the programme from that game has a picture of a packed Goldstone from above. Does anyone know what game this is from?. I would guess from the picture that the attendance must have been pushing towards the 30K mark. Picture is far too modern for it to be the Fulham 36K match from the 50s. Plus that temporary stand on the west side I believe was put up for when we were in Div 1.
Anyone have any ideas ?

Cheers Bobby.

Would love to get hold of a big copy of that picture.

Is the picture b/w or colour?

Colour

If I can work out how to post a picture on here, I will do so when I get home tonight.

12 hour shift with a major hangover. It's gonna be a long day

Do you mean the 'lego' stand is in the picture or not in the picture? If it is in the picture, it will from one of the four seasons in the top flight (79-80 to 82-83). Possibly the opening game v Arsenal in 79?

Yes the lego stand is indeed in the picture. Which, like you say also lead me to the conclusion of its approximate era. So we are guessing it was against Arsenal. Next question is... Does anyone know what the attendance was. It looks RAMMED

Yep. I have scanned and cropped the picture off of the program and tied to enlarge it. It's a great pic IMO.

I will get home from work about 2100 tonight and put it up. Can anyone explain how I paste a pic on here?. Is it as simple as copy and paste or is it a little more technical than that.

Nice one. I can't quite make out the teams in that pic. Anyone?

Yep , that's the one. Cheers. I have always wondered where they source these pics from. Obviously some photographic Library, but i wouldn't mind getting a big old JPEG of that image.

What makes you so sure it was taken during the match v Arsenal?

If indeed this is against Arsenal, and the attendance is 28 - 30K. How the hell did they manage to shoehorn in 36,500 against Fulham for the record attendance. Given that the "Lego" stand was not there. Christ knows how they managed that.
