No, it hasn't got any chains... But like I say, it has a proper (outdoor) barbeque, it has a deli counter, it has a butchers and it has a Cafe that uses local produce.
I like KFC as much as the next man, by the way.

Tebay benefits hugely from the fact that it is in Cumbria. It wouldn't be able to cope with the tpye of footfall that most other service stations would get.

Watford gap is a bit shit.
Oxford is excellent. I was quite impressed with Toddington (just outside Luton) this weekend.
Toddington is the one south of Watford Gap on the M1. Go there instead.

I had a big dump at Toddington on Sunday, the toilets were a MESS, but I had been to a Hindu wedding and having spent the previous day consuming loads of Becks Vier and curry, I really need a shit. Needless to say I did not hang around.

Because there's no services on the M25 between J7 M23 and J21 M1. The busiest bit doesn't have a service station. Granted it should probably be closer to J14, but that part of motorway does need one
Not at all. There is a BIG gap in services on the M25. I remember driving from Luton airport to Brighton one morning, and struggling to stay awake, as there is not ONE place to stop between Luton and Crawley.
Will do well, particularly as Clackett's Lane is Shithouse.

Likewise, always tried to stop there on the way to and from Sussex when I lived in Scotland...the one near Oxford is also fairly decent.
Worst for me is the one on the M5 southbound between Gloucester and Bristol...stopped there twice before I moved out this way...both times the cutlary in the restaurant was dirty, caked with goodness knows what, an easy way to destroy your appetite.
However, none compare to the food on offer at services on the German autobahn, like eating in a proper restaurant...tasty and very good value. If our services took the same approach they would turn into gold mines, rather than just being rip-offs.
