Thanks everybody for the advice.
How I understand some of the replies, it seems that you may not need additional antivirus software if running Windows 10?
Avast has got several thumbs up. If I use this, would I need to disable the built-in Windows software or do they run together?
Are "Dubious" websites adult ones, or more sinister? I ask this as an adult!
I look forwards to any responses. Thanks.
Dubious websites don't really include mainstream porn sites although buyer beware if you are treading off the 'beaten' path.
Windows 10 comes with Defender which is good enough unless your downloading dodgy torrentz or visiting russian warez sites or clicking random links sent to you in emails from people you don't know.
Otherwise get a free avg if you want the added feeling of security, windows or avast should flag up any issues if you need to disable Defender. Not sure haven't used a third party antivirus for years, Microsoft Defender and common sense should be enough.
