Just watching this on DVD, there aren't many performers past or present who could have 72,000 or so fans eating out of their hand the way Freddie did here. He died nearly 20 years ago now and is still utterly unsurpassed as a vocalist, frontman and performer in my opinion.

I'd love to have been born in time to attend something like this and see such an incredible singer and band at the absolute peak of their powers.

If you could pick one concert, artist or performance that you wish you'd had the chance to see live, who would it be?

actually...back in the day, there were 2 concerts on in london on the same night...supertramp and ac/dc.
we decided to go and see supertramp as ac/dc were 'always touring..we can see them anytime'

turned out to be the last concert with bon scott.
f*** my luck :(

Jimi Hendrix - the one he did when Martin Luther King died...or the Million Dollar Sun Sessions would have been awesome...or the Manchester Free Trade Hall Sex Pistols gig just to see how many famous musicians really were at that gig.

That is shite luck. A friend of mine is a massive ACDC fan but is only my kind of age, and his big wish would have been to see them with Scott. Sadly as with me and Queen/Freddie it's a chance we just can't have.

I was there for that concert, truely amazing, Freddie was unbelievable live.
Good day out, The Alarm opened, followed by INXS, then Quo before Queen took to the stage, fantastic day out.

As for others, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Wembley, the Born in the USA tour was IMHO one of the best. Bruce dosnt do support acts, and the concert lasted about 3 hrs 45 mins, boiling hot day July 3rd 1985.???
My ex missus managed to get me a 4 album vinyl bootleg of the whole concert, 1st class recording direct from thesound board.
Only ever played it a couple of times, recorded it and stored it ever since, in immaculate condition.

I'd would say Queen as it happens, Freddie was the original showman, and all the others since are just pretenders in my opinion.

I watched the BBC2 on Queen the other week, and at the original Live Aid he stole the show, and given some of the others acts on that day, that was no mean feat.

Saw Queen at Knebworth on the same tour, it was one of the greatest gigs I ever went to.

I was at the 4th. of July 85' Springsteen gig at Wembley Stadium, having got into him via BitUSA, and have a slight regret I wasn't dialed in when he played two nights at The Brighton Centre on The River tour in May 81'. I believe tickets were an 'exorbitant' £5, when mere mortal bands, like The Jam, charged about £2.40

How about this one at Plumpton in 1970.......could now be the place to go instead of Glastonbury?

Didn't manage to get to see The Tunnel of Love Express Tour show at Wembley Stadium in '88, which was a shame, as I think ToL is one of his best albums, and of course, BS was falling in lurve with PS

Saw them in Munich on this tour in 86 on the night of the world cup final It was West Germany (as they were known at the time) v Argentina, I think. You would never known though, as Bavarians they didnt give a damn. Funny moment that night was myself and friend were sat on the upper level of the Olympic Hall when 2 gorgeous girls sat next to us. I went to get a couple lagers just before Queen came on and after the first track, in worst German type accent, I turned and said "Queen, they are good, ya ?) pointing to the stage. They both turned to me immediately and in strong American accents said yes, they are great, man. They then bought us drinks throughout the gig, appeared that one of girls dad was very high up within BMW. My pal still takes the piss to this day.
