If you speak with trades who've done some time working on new builds it's scary how poor the quality is - I wouldn't touch a new build with a barge pole.

I wouldn't touch a new build with a barge pole.

As many of them are seemingly built on floodplains, often that is the only way to open the front door.

While I think new builds are generally shocking I don't entirely agree with the "don't build them like they used to" argument.
If you're looking at housing stock well over a hundred years old then most of the ones left are decent. The shit ones they built have either fallen down or had to be fixed properly since.

Post war housing was also cheaply built.
