Does make you wonder though seeing that the crash is reported to have been on East Ham High Street which is presumably a 30mph zone how 3 fatalities could have ocurred without excessive speed being involved.

Tragic waste of young life :( RIP :(

Very sad. 3 dead and one seriously injured in one vehicle.

Don't know what happened in this case, but typically such a high casualty count in one vehicle on an urban road is consistent with seatbelts not being worn and rear seat passengers catapulting forward and inflicting fatal injuries on those in the front. Happens alot.

High St South in East Ham is, if my memory serves me right from living near there a few years ago, a one-way street and it's partly pedestrianised. So conjecture is that the black VW Golf was speeding up the road. Buses pull out of junctions on there, and if they were speeding, it may cause such an accident. But obviously we don't yet know what happened. But three deaths on that road is terrible :nono:

There are various rumours and counter-rumours going around but it's best left for the facts to come out. What we do know is we as a club have lost a young man with great potential. If I'm honest, if he was to achieve what he was capable of, it wouldn't have been with us ... Premiership clubs were looking at him last season and saw him score some decent goals, the winner at Southampton being a bit of a favourite of mine.

What his family and friends are going through at the moment must be awful.

RIP Ray Jones.

From QPR message board...

London Today news report on Ray Jones
Apparently he passed his driving test last week and celebrated buying a new car which he crashed last night. He lost control turning right into a main road, careered straight across both lanes, hitting the kerb and the car turned over 2 or 3 times before ending up beside a bus. All very sad for all 3 in the car who died.
