they have only got 2 points from last 3 games. maybe getting nervous. bristol city have a very hard run in. but it aint gonna be a stroll for this nervous bunch either.

a. tranmere vastly improving
h. grimsby fighting relegation so will not roll over
a. barnsley, away never easy place to go. but are fading a little.
h. stockport fighting relegation
a. plymouth they will want the title in this game.
h. swindon fighting for playoffs.
a. sheff weds. hard game if the pressure is still on rangers. no pressure on weds. big crowd would wanna finish season with a win.

If we win both of our games next weekend then we could be in with a good chance of automatic promotion. Bristol City away could be a massive game.

This is the same situation as 2002. Then we were chasing the title, this time it's the runners-up spot.

The teams that should have the place by rights just don't seem to be able to grasp it. This will leave the door open for us. All we need to do is keep our nerve over the next 6 games and if we can get another 16 points then we could just scrape in. The other key point is that our goal-difference is getting better by the game, and theirs isn't - we're already level on goals with Bris C.

There's still a lot of the race to go, and we're looking as good as anyone left in it.

Automatic is now no longer an option. We have to make sure we get into the play-offs. However it currently looks like we will be playing at home 1st against either Bristol City or Swindon. Out of the 2 I'd prefer to play Bristol City?

We can still make 4th spot. That would at least get us the home leg second, which would be ideal. With that in mind, I think I'd prefer Swindon. But if Bristol City make it to the final, not sure I'd want to face them in Cardiff as it's only a 20-minute driver for them. Hardly an away game :(

I actually think we would be better playing the home leg first. if teams know they just need to defend a lead and not be too adventerous ala Rushden, then we could be faced with a frustrating finish. I think we need to be at home first try and get a goal or 2 and put them under pressure for their home leg.

Interesting thought. I like that idea.

If we want to be at home first we have to finish 5th or 6th?

I had been saying I'd want to avoid Swindon at all costs, but in the light of BC's improvement, and Swindon showing their occasional defensive vunerability, I'd rather finish 5th, get some sort of lead at home and go to the County Ground to defend

QPR may be getting nervous but I still don't fancy meeting them in the play-offs.

swindon in the play offs as you get 3200 tickets allocated for away fans at the county ground ideal, thats if we make the play offs

Would we be able to take 3200 to Swindon midweek?

Our home record is tremendous, if they had to come to us midweek we'd have a great chance. If we can only get a draw at their place they wouldn't want to come to Brighton and need to win.

If Rushden can shut us out at home then you have to worry about having the home leg first?

Yeah but that could apply either way DP. If we had the away leg first and lost by one or two goals, the other team could just come and defend at Withdean midweek. Then we would also have problems.

I must admit I am beginning to favour the home leg first, so we build up a couple of goals advantage. At least, that's what we should get at home!!

If Swindon win their last 3 games (which includes away to QPR) then they should finish second. If they do then I bet we get QPR at home in the first leg - and I'd fancy us to go through. It has to happen.

Absolutely, but only approx 1,600 people have cottoned on to the fact. The remainder are apparently saving their money for the play-offs. Good luck to 'em ;)

Personally, I wouldn't miss Bristol City for anything (obviously an exageration, but you get my drift) - atmosphere will be GREAT.
