Know it’s a friendly but We’ve looked pretty poor against a really awful QPR. Sarmiento and Ayai miles off being ready based on today. Milner looks like he’s played a season too many. Almost nothing happening in The final third. And really not sure what our system/identity is based on this. Let’s hope it gets much better.

Why has Jenson Weir been anywhere near Japan or Shepherds Bush? The guy is 22 years old but hasn't been anywhere near securing a position within our first team.

I understand his old man has some sway around the club, but he's taking the p!55.

Exactly. Decent pre-season jog. Probably should have had three or four and can't remember Steele making a save. Style wise there's still possession but good group pressing - we press and break in numbers. It could be riskier in the PL but was fine today. Ayari won't be a PL starter IMO but was good in the first half, then faded. Sarmiento won't play ahead of either Enciso or Pedro when they're back.

More observations

Wieffer is either very rusty or very bad. Almost certainly rusty

I reckon Osman might miss the cut, and may find himself loaned, especially if we do land one more target

Cozier-Dewsbury has got to gain a squad place looks a menace

Also Sarmiento. The lad has done enough. He's in the squad for me and should be starting while we await to see what is going on with Pedro

Where is Adingra?

Veltman MOM for me.

Steele really is an astonishing passer of a ball

Could O'Mahoney also feature in the first team squad? He plays so similar to Evan

Coudn't have said it better myself. At one point I didn't think we would ever win the ball in midfield, despite all the high press.
Really missed dunk at the back, As for Gilmor and Pascal missing you could see the difference. 90% attack came the wings and nothing happened.

God forbid we play this way agaist Everton. Jesus.

Well I’m at the ground guess you’re watching on a laptop? One soft pen and barely any clear cut chances against a team that has got to be a favourite for relegation. Guess you’re easily pleased.

It looked alright, saw more structure now and can see it turning really good when everyone learns the exact pressing patterns etc. Good opponent to try it against as QPR is one of the teams with the most PL-like playing styles.

Thought Ayari looked really good and he might have earned himself a place in next seasons squad. He was the standout player today, but many did just fine.

Wiefer looked rusty but will boss midfield, just needs to sharpen up. Ayari looks a real prospect and will replace Gilmour with added goal threat. Defence looked fine, baleba isn’t a full back. Hinsh will gradually replace gross. Minteh, osman, cozier Duberry really add to wingers and rotation will mean we can attack throughout. Tacticaly we look great at pressing, reminds me of a klopp team.

Very comfortable game with missing 12 players. Fitness levels far higher than we have ever had too.

Wieffer looks way off being ready for start of the season.

Ayari, who could barely get a start for two Champ teams last season will get eaten alive in the Prem. he’s got promise but def not ready.

Decent enough run out . Seems a bit disjointed due to the injuries and Euro returns. Doesn't feel like we are nearer to our known first 11 but I'm sure Hurzeler is seeing enough to know. Wonder if can read into the players that got 60 mins.

Wieffer had a shocker there but hasn't played has he. He needs 60 mins at least next week.

Osman was better than previous games

Cozier Dubery looked a threat again

Minteh looked a bit calamitous at times , was superb in Japan though

Baleba driving runs first half were excellent , as someone else mentioned , his first touch needs improving.

Still got very big concerns with our CM .

Good to get the minutes. Can't wait for Pedro and Dunk back . Best not over analyze friendlies as the season rarely reflects what goes on a this stage.

Yes, there’s a really significant change in style I think. We are getting the ball forward far quicker and our pressing is very intense (Minteh really helps with that).
Sometimes I think we need to just look to change the tempo a bit in midfield. Baleba is not a full back but I still think he looks the business.
The main thing I’ve noticed is our physicality. Lots of tackles in midfield and prepared to foul when needed. Doubt we’ll be bossed about too much by the more physical teams in the Premier League.
Issue is that we haven’t played anyone yet who is good at beating the press, because it looks like we’ll be pressing a lot.

Last season was last season... not going to matter much going forward. What he is showing Fabian right now will be more important in making a decision about what tod owith him.
