Ecuador / England double 2.5/1 for my opening gambit.

Had a decent run in the euros and bought a new set of Taylormade from the proceeds although this time round will cover my Tesco’s shop for a month

I get the reference to South Korea and the bent ref. You'd think that episode has been learnt from, yet the WC is in, er, Qatar. In winter.

That Wales list. :lolol:

Some of the most average footballers I can think of. They'll probably stuff us now.
It’s quite insulting that clearly English players seem to be more passionate about playing for wales than a lot of English players do playing for England.

I wonder about the Scottish list as well, they have a lot of English cast offs as well.

I am actually looking forward to this game,
Estupiñán And Caicedo likely starters - Hopefully they will Smash the hosts whilst taking the piss with their South American flair - With the headlines reading “Some Things Money Can Buy But Not South American Flair At A World Cup “
‘Chelsea targets star in WC opener’

Refereeing decisions going for the home nation has a long and fine tradition:

1978 - Argentina dodgy penalty v France without even going into the Peru game
1982 - red card for Northern Ireland v Spain

Can both be added to South Korea in 2002.

I hope the Ecuador players get paid a ton of money to throw the game. That way our three lads won’t be so keen to move on for more money in the summer.

For full disclosure, the above is a joke.

I've got a sweepstake going with friends as to how many times BRIGHTON are mentioned in the whole 3 plus hour programme on BBC, pre-match, game and post-match. Loving the fact that Equador and our number 25 are the first match of the whole damn tournament!!!

Ecuador are 7/5 on Bet 365 - other bookmakers are available - on Sunday to beat Qatar who are no better than a glorified pub team. I genuinely think its one of the best bets I've ever seen unless the ref is bent.

We know how good 3 of them are.

It's a puzzle, for sure.

Not to mention our very own Brighton born youngster in the Wales U21s, who may well play for the senior Wales team in the future.

There’s loads of rumours online about referees being paid off and the result already being agreed (1-0 Qatar)

Would not be betting anything on this game between a South American team and a corrupt nation & tournament hosts
How an earth can you 'agree' a score in a football match? It's virtually impossible.

1-0 to Qatar (pen) is too obvious.

It'll be 2-1 to Qatar, with 2 penalties to the hosts.

Coverage starts at 3pm tomorrow on BBC1, who are apparently airing a 'Panorama' style programme during the buildup into the issues surrounding this WC.
