I'm not sure what you mean. Since that seems to be a "yes", then you're regularly eating Halal. I'm surprised you're ignorant of that.

No, wait. I'm NOT surprised you're ignorant of it.
I haven`t eaten a take out for many years it was meant as a joke , my wife cooks the hottest meanest curries you could wish for , besides i won`t eat any bird because i am a bird lover , it`s normally pork for me - so not going to be halal .

As for ignorant , making assumptions seems pretty ignorant to me .

Anyone who thought it was reasonable to turn up at matches in an Arab / Muslim country fancy-dressed as someone who raped, pillaged and occupied Arab lands, is a special level of stupid, and should consider themselves lucky if they are only refused entry to the games.

Utter pricks.
Agree.

Although, I'd point out that Saint George was a soldier in the Roman army and not a crusader. If they are dressing as Saint George, then it's different. Not that anyone out there dressed in the garb would be pointing out the difference.

As a Roman soldier, St George wouldn't have been wearing a tabard and chain mail.

Good point.

Perhaps we could annoy the Italians by stealing from their culture as well then.

I think your knowledge is greater than mine , i have not read that book but will make the effort to . I genuinely believe for all our faults the British are amazing , thanks to the industrial revolution the entire world took two steps forward . There is a massive difference between the British Empire and the Roman Empire for instance , they never had any intentions of handing back conquered territories or making reparations whereas we still have a Commonwealth built around a continuing trust and cooperation .
I mean what did the Romans do for us? I mean apart from the legal system, water supply, sanitation, roads, greatest period of peace, education, agricultural development, stone buildings……

Why do people object to halal meat and not to kosher meat. I thought the method of slaughter is the same?

I think you’ve just got to be sensitive Qatar is ultra conservative to a great many things than perhaps in Europe, S.America or Far Eastern countries. It’s less about the costumes, anyone still sensitive about events a millennia ago probably, it could be argued, needs to move on. However, if they’re still prepared to attack or kill you on the spot, it’s wiser not to antagonise regardless. I wouldn’t be upset by someone dressed as a Taliban warrior here, but I wouldn’t walk round Kabul dressed as GI Joe either.

This. I just don’t understand why all meat isn’t just Kosher & Halal ‘blessed’ so anyone and everyone can then eat. Job done. I’m neither but it really doesn’t matter in my book.

Presumably the knight/crusader fancy dress is connected with St George. Interest in patron saints is a bit too Catholic for a country that has a protestant church named after itself and he wasn't even English anyway. Instead, our fans should be adopting costumes that better reflect England and Englishness as viewed by the rest of the world. Unfortunately this means that we either turn up in pinstripes and bowlers, carrying umbrellas, or we adopt the dress that a third of the globe has most often seen Englishmen in: Dress uniforms, carrying rifles with fixed bayonets.
Most of the world's population wasn't alive to see English men with bayonets.
It happened well over a hundred years ago.

Any dietary conditions laid down by an invented imaginary God type entity is utterly f***ing stupid.
Some people believe any old bullshit instructions handed to them
