Juan Roman Riquelme - Atletico Madrid

And we are crying out for a midfielder.

Come on, even if the pay is good would you really want to come and play at the Withdean in front of 5500 people, getting changed in a pota cabin and with its total lack of any atmosphere ? Apart from the guaranteed 3 points, teams must hate playing down here. And that aint Dicks fault.

Can't beleive we didn't get Tevez....

Honestly, what do some people expect on here. If you were a pro footballer, would you really want to ply your trade at The Withdean? I think we need to be realistic as to where we are. The News on Falmer is great and in the future we can move the goalposts so to speak but for now to get any player of any quality to come here is an acheivement IMO.

dont be so rediculous.

When harty interviewed Roy Mcfarland( I was sat next to him - fawning), he said that he would have no problem playing here as if you were a professional player, you would ply your trade in a ploughed field so long as you were playing and getting experience. he suggested that there were worse grounds than ours and he said it was a tremendous asset that the south stand was so close to the pitch.

The problem must be the package we can afford to put together as we obviously go after lots of people but very few seldom take our offer up. In fact, most people who come here on loan love it ( apart from McShane seemly)

A player is hardly gonna say "Na Withdean is Shit don't fancy playing here" in an interview are they?

It's a poor ground with a poor atmosphere not helped by the amount of people whinging and moaning on here about everything and nothing rather than get behind the team.

Whilst I haven't been to every Albion away match last season (i went to quite a few) I am struggling to think of a ground that is worse than ours.

You think where we are now from where we were 10 years ago it's a miricale we still have a club to "Support". And thats exactly what we should be doing, Supporting.

Dean Wilkins is the Manager and weather you like it or not We should be behind him 100% week in week out. We have a young squad who react to the crowd and very much sense when they are on their back - and likewise when we are behind them. It makes a real difference.

You may not agree with all the decisions that happen at the club but unless I've mis understood and you have some kind of Financial inside to how the club is operating then you need to accept the decisions that happen and trust that DK and DW are doing all they can for the club.

It's so frustrating knowing that all the people who really know how to run the club are too busy doing their day jobs...

Blimey.....

1. I have never said I liked or disliked Wilkins. The only gripe I had when he was appointed was the "excuse" DK made by blaming us the supporters for losing faith in McGhee when that patently was not the case. I have said that on the radio and to DK himself.

2. Where have I said I dont agee with decision that are made. I think the club is being run as well as it can with the humungous debt around its neck caused by the Falmer debacle. If it would have gone through on the nod, then we would be in a totally different financial ballgame. It is very patronising to suggest that I " need to accept what DK is doing". If we would have accepted what Archer was doing with the club we would not have a club now ( Not that I am suggesting for one minute that it is the same) however from what we have been through, transparency is what is demanded above all. Yes perhaps in the position of occasionally being on the radio you get to talk to people who know far more about the goings on in the club that you or I will ever know and you will certainly form an opinion on how you think it is being run, be it rightly or wrongly.

The suggestion I was making is that we sometimes make too much of the Withdean factor, when you talk to people in the game who suggest it isnt as bad as we make out. Anyway, tyo take your point further, how would a prospective signee know what sort of fans we are, you suggest we are all moany groany, but I respectfully suggest you listen to 606 ( after teh fans phone in with ian hart obviously:thumbsup:) and listend to Premiership fans...now they moan that their clubs have a striker who ONLY scores 30 a season.....oh what a luxury that must be!!!
