If you have a criminal records, that's it, forever. Can affect your travel rights. Almost certainly you'd never be allowed out of America.
Seriously, only things like speeding points can be 'wiped off' after a time. If you are required to declare a past criminal conviction this means you have a record. Not all 'convictions' are 'criminal' though.
