Mine is reading 92% as I enter my second week of covid, bad cough now and bit breathy. Should I go to A&E? The NHS advice is confusing nowadays since the initial crisis ended

My wife, who’s a nurse, says below 94% is on the low side. Not to panic as age, co-morbidities etc all make a difference but you’re fully justified and well-advised to call 111.

92% is too low, it should be over 94%. I’d go to A&E

Yes you should definately phone 111 and get medical advice. Did you use the Oxymeter before you got covid to find your normal oxygen saturation reading?

Indeed, I’m usually around 98%

probably best not good to go to AE unless essential to do so whilst infectious with covid because other people quite probably would get infected.

Try to be relaxed

If possible breathe slowly through the nose and out through the mouth.

Concentrate on filling the lungs as best you can and see if you get the figure to pop up a bit.

you will be fine at your age. Does show the value of owning an oximeter though thats for sure. And also shows why the government shouldnt be pretending that covid is just like a regular cold/flu. It isnt.
