I don't think you realise the strict entry conditions were going to have. Crowds of people aren't going to piling into pubs willy nilly. Your going to be greeted and seated by a host. No tables left, no entry. Bookings will be advisable.

And that's one of the main things that potentially is putting me off (in the short term anyway). I like the spontaneity of being able to pop in and out or go to a few pubs of an evening, not plan to have to pre-book a place like a restaurant.

I do miss the pub atmosphere but will wait until things get back to some semblance of normality (even if that does take several more months) Plus I'm in no hurry to put back on the 2 stone plus I've lost in lockdown!

The norm is a very long way off I'm afraid. I would suggest writing off 2020. That includes things like Christmas Parties.

At least until a vaccine is available anyway.

Suspect you're right. I've just had notification of my 15th gig of the year postponed from April to September and now to March 2021, so for me social gatherings in general will largely wait until next year I suspect.

There have been some advantages in lockdown not only the weight loss but the saving on fuel. I've only filled the car up twice since Feb! - normally it's once a fortnight. Most things I can wait for - I just hope there will be enough pubs left open when I venture back into them next year.

July 4th is a big day for both the Albion and pubs. Will we be able to sit 1 metre apart and fist bump the nearest person when Maupay scores the winner?
Or will it be a case of pubs opening their doors and trying their best to keep everyone apart?
The game is on BT Sport so lets hope we get another day pass otherwise it could well be the latter.

Most pubs will have queues with one in one out I presume so for me I will be watching from home.

We will come back stronger than ever!

If someone thinks to put a gigantic screen up on Hove lawns and charge a fiver per pint, they will make a lot of money

The last two games has seen me lug the TV and AppleTV out into the garden, daisy-chain some extension cables and re-arrange the furniture and have a few friends round for appropriately socially-distanced viewing with beers. Last night we supremented this with some food from the local chippy.

It's been a wonderful way to watch our games.

Love pubs as I do, I have no real desire to be inside, feeling slightly uneasy at the close proximity of others and what may be in the air we're all breathing in and out, and that's before considering the toilet situation.

If there was a local pub with outdoor seating, a large visible screen and table service, I could be tempted, but I can't think of one.

I take it none of you have looked at the weather forecast - I wish I could be so oblivious!

No idea if it is government rules or just Greene King, but Greene King pubs will not be showing football. Makes sense to me.
Also, some will not be opening on July 4th but the 6th, seems crazy to reopen on a weekend.

Spot on! Who wants the normal pub experience distorted to the extent that it's not enjoyable. Maybe if I was in my 20's I'd be thinking differently.

Would imagine a lot of pubs have cancelled their TV sport subscriptions anyway as based on price it’s only recovered from having a full pub unless it’s a hooky dish?
