Pubs in and around Hassocks for lunch - advice needed

The Half Moon (10 mins from Hassocks) - hidden away at the foot of the Downs on the Plumpton Road, excellent

I'll vouch for that, had lunch there the other week and it was good Bit gastropub, pricey but not too bad.

In that case, The Bull it is then, as they pay for a perimeter advertising board under the West Stand ...probably explains the comments about price.

Dont know how close to Hassocks you need to be, but the Shepherd and Dog at fulking does good food and excellent beer

Thatched Inn is great, the Half Moon also, and if you want something swankier then the Ginger Fox at Albourne is awesome.

Jack and Jill is a nice pub, large garden with play area. Maybe a bit on the pricey side but good food.

Thanks for all the advice guys. The Thatched was my pub when I was 16 or 17 and learning about beer and girls. Four of us used to go there on Friday nights and drink halves of mild and listen to Radio Luxembourg on our transistor radios. It was a pretty boring pub in those days, although we thought it was great, but obviously seems to have changed.

I think I'll give it a go. I wonder if they'll remember me, after all, it was only 50 years ago.
