Other than Doc Brown's does anyone have any favourites.

Last time we were there we went in a few that were incredibly cheap but not many Albion in.

Cant remember the name but one in an alleyway next to/under the station. Beer sold in cans for £1 [ish]. Handy for a couple of beers and some for the train home.

If you change at York drink there and get to Boro as late as possible. The fact that Doc Browns is considered good tells you a lot about the quality of Middlesbrough's pubs.

Loads of great micropubs in Middlesbrough but not much use for matchday. I am staying overnight on Friday and will tend to use these as the pubs are not at all inviting unless you like bog-standard lagers or John Smiths. As has been said, for those coming up on the day I would use York (or perhaps Yarm) and get a late connection to Boro.

Is The Ayresome Park still open? Probably not away fans friendly though. Full of Boro memorabilia.

We’re training it from Newcastle, so will probably pop to the Rat Race in Hartlepool before/after, as well as Doc Browns.
