Ah, I thought these were just rumours. BTW it's Le Perroquet Blue. Will it have real ale though?

By the way, the Hikers is over a mile from the stadium; I can't imagine many wanting to walk that, judging by how many people I see getting a bus to Withdean from half a mile away.

Hikers & then jump on the 25 simples.

Swan in Falmer, its got to be?

this was written on review site about old owner John who passed away "The landlord hates smoking and football and will make this point heard"

chin up, because this was written about new owners "the new licencee's who inherited the pub are going to throw the pub open to football fans on home match days. dear old John will be turning in his grave."

It has a capacity of about 30 though, doesn't it? (Genuine question, I've never been in.)

Probably about 100 tops. It's on old-style pub with three separate small bars. The middle one takes about 15, the one nearest the car park about 30 and the 'big' one about 50. That's standing, not sitting. Basically it's a small village pub.

Expensive and empty.
The uni bars are crap, possibly due to Sussex students being the most t-total bunch of students I have ever witnessed!
Well over £3 a pint. Bloody disgrace really. And only two! TWO! On an entire campus and spread out at either end of campus. You get sober walking between them.
Useless, bloody useless.
Oh and barely any ale. And when there is ale it invariably all tastes the same.

Makes you wonder. We had 16 on the Nottingham campus.

at £3 can you blame them? cheaper in town, even these days. must a have changed a bit, i recall about 4-5 bars on campus.

First game, or first few games for sure, I'm going to be there nice and early at the stadium as well to take it all in.

Once I've settled into my routine though, I'll mostly be drinking locally before getting to the game methinks.

Sounds about right. Pretty much exactly what I do now.

Lewes sounds good with many pubs and probably easier on the train than Brighton.

One pub to AVOID though is the Lecturn on Lewes Road near the p&r. Pub must be rolling in the student money because it does not allow kids. And this is the same pub that refused to serve me a few years ago because i was 'too old'.

Maybe the Landlord needs some education in economics, as well as some decent beer.
