Took my 6 year old to see the live action remake of that lovely 1940s cartoon Pinocchio.

It was genuinely disturbing.

Spoilers but he burnt his feet off, got hung, drowned as a donkey, elated by a sharped toothed whale but mainly the characters where scary as hell.

The wheezing tuna, nightmare inducing.

Worse than any saw film

I was scarred for life when my mum took me to see " A Walt Disney film " at the age of six... it was Fantasia, absolute crock of shite, even Mickey Mouse abandoned the production before the end...

Took my 3 year old to see the original film. He got bored and we left. Not before we saw Pinocchio drinking beer and getting wasted. He was just a boy FFS!

I saw that too, this is very much a dark version.

With a family-friendly Disney remake out in 2021.

We took our then 4 year old to see the highly regarded kids animation Coraline.

It was like a toned down horror, more at the Amityville end of the movies spectrum, than the Bambi end.

She still remembers it 11 years on.

My mum thought it was a good idea to let me watch Threads when I was about 9 years old (at the height of the cold war).

The only positive being that I've never been scared by any film since.
