Public Transport to Reading on Boxing Day

If you're desperate to go and don't mind paying through the nose then there is a way by public transport.

Southern trains to Victoria
Underground to Paddington
Heathrow Express replacement bus to Heathrow
Heathrow Connect replacement bus to Reading

1100 from Paddington gets you to Reading at 1245

Unfortunately the last return goes at 1700 so you'd need to leave early or have a cab waiting.

Best of luck with the Underground - they're going on strike again, just like last year. That was fun (NOT) trying to get to Dagenham for a game that was off !!

According to National Rail website there is a train leaving HH at 1045 and leaving Gatwick at 12.00 to arrive at Reading at 13.43 the problem is getting home after the game.
