That was a corking performance tonight. Benitez certainly knows how to play in Europe.

I never think of Liverpool fans as arrogant, supporters are always fantastic and the Liverpool temas of the 70's and 80's showed the world how to play the game and how to win whilst still being humble, somehting know other English team has been able to do for a long time.
Also think the Liverpool take over is a lot different ot the United one.......Liverpools new owner have nt borrowed to buy Liverpool, they have no debt to service !!

George Gillett is also learning the game and what it means to the Liverpool fans. He comes across as a decent guy who is interested in becoming a fan, seems to understand Liverpool's traditions and understands what is happening on the pitch. And the other guy is also well informed about the club he is joint-owner of.

Massive Massive difference to the ManUre takeover. And their money is a lot more honest than Chelscum's owner's.

The democratic and free EU
You can't fault PSV's post-match analysis last night.

Dutch TV interviewer: "What was PSV's biggest problem tonight?"
Philip Cocu: "The 11 men of Liverpool."

Im not sure Liverpool can take that much from last night.
They will go through, but in truth PSV played with out 3 Key players and played as badly as they could have.

Chelsea and Valencia wont be overly scared of facing Liverpool

Chelsea had been going strong in three cups at the time, I think Jose knows if he wants to keep his job they need to win the Champions League.

Staying that I cant see Chelsea getting past Valencia.

Man Utd Valencia final for me

Fair enough. I am probably guilty of basing my misconceptions on a large amount of Liverpool fans I know that wear their shirts when the team wins and hide them away when the team goes without a trophy.

I don't see how they know their football more than anyone else though.

I agree with you about fair weather supporters, colours when theyre winning, civvies when theyr'e not.

lucky we don't have any of those shallow "fans" at the Albion.

Difference. We already start out, as far as Prem supporters think, as 'losers' and underdogs, regardless of our results. Win and wear your shirt; plucky underdog enjoying a moment of 'loser' pleasure.
If we lose, we are losing losers, and our shirts, greying and fraying under their superior gaze, represent the vague hope of a loser, that one day we may have a fleeting moment of glory, before going back to being regular bogstandard losers again.

LOOOOO-SEEERRSS !

I am, now, a Chelski fan, shining like a new dime, can you hear me now, can you hear me now. With a rebel yell, the invincible winner, heartbreaker, dreamtaker.....unless Man United win the league, then I'm a RED, I fear nothing, we are everywhere, we are all rooooooneeeeeee!

Sorry, back to being an ALBION fan, normal service resumed, fielrcely proud. SEAGULLLSSSS!:ascarf: :bhasign:

I thought Liverpool were good without being great. Crouch had a really poor game apart from the goal.

It's funny, Liverpool can sort-of 'afford' that. As long as the tactic produces a goal, his playing crap is something they can live with.

We actually had something similar in that regard, in Peter Ward. He often walked the midway line for the best part of 89 minutes while the rest of the team defended.

It was that one flash of action that counted - he got the ball from a clearance and the poor goallie who had nothing to do all game was picking it out of the net!
