Swimming pool has now gone, as has Mrs Batchelor...LOl

Jock the caretaker is still hanging on, but he has been served notice as the new caretaker wants his house( the one to the right of the main entrance)

Steve rawlings is head of juniors. Head of Governors is Harry Steer ( anyone remember him from PCC) marian hay has retired ( her son sits two away from me in H block)

Mrs Vines is head and the schools has a decent new bock opened by margaret Beckett 5 odd years ago.

If you remember any names put them here and i will see if they are still there.

Mrs Bennett?>

Best acheivment was getting a degree but my proudest moment was passing the IBM AIX Engineer Certification exam without having logged onto an AIX box.

That sadly pretty well sums up the actual value of IT Certification, the MCSE has a lot to answer for !

On NSC for over two decades...
I once so absolutely SPANKED the coursework for a module at Uni that I'd already passed the module before I sat the exam. Guess how much revision I did for that one!!

Just wondered if she was there when I was.

Mrs Bennett used to run the football and cricket teams, year 5 if I recall

The great thing is that that certificate added about 10k onto my salary when I changed jobs.

My proudest achievement was GSCE maths. Now during the early 80's I failed O level maths 3 times. Each time getting a U (unclassfied). Basically I was very bored with maths and simply didn't bother listening. Other qualifications I got fine

However, some 12 years later (at the age of 30) I thought it important to get the maths exam. I enrolled at an evening class and perservered and in some mad small way enjoyed it.

I took the exam along with the other kids at my night class.

I was so proud to get a B.

It really shows that its never too late to get some qualifications.

No, it shows that GCSEs are a piece of piss compared with O-levels. ;)

Finding out my degree result was fairly special, I must admit. Only a cheeky 2.1 but I've never had less idea how well or badly I'd done in any exam - I would have been no less, or just as surprised if I'd failed - not a clue in advance. Unfortunately, in retrospect, my mates and I may well have leapt around not unlike those annoying hormonal beasts that will be everywhere on the news tonight, for which I can only apologise now.

Actually - passing my driving test last year at the ripe old age of 35 was AWESOME (if that counts). I KNEW that I'd failed during the test was thoroughly pissed off about so the surprise element when we got back was special. Bit sad, I guess.

Attaining 3 A levels and a 2:1 in Maths and Stats at a proper university having been a pupil at Tideway is an achievment trust me.

(Not necessarily the highest ranked)

I once dropped out of a Government and Political Studies A-level course after TWO lectures, as I was too busy for evening classes.

Took the exam anyway (as I'd paid for it) - and passed.

Was an 'E' admitedly, but not bad given that I'd never saw the course syllabus let alone read a text book.
