He did you a favour by saying it could have been clearer, and editing it to be so, but you seem to be taking advantage of that and claim it was all his failt, when the post was clear to everyone else as it was.
I understand that the manner in which your error of misunderstanding was pointed out, was offensive, but by going on as you are, you are being wrong twice, and you just look more foolish.
Maybe leave it a while if you are getting wound up.
Going on? By that you mean the right of reply when a few trolls get together to make mischief and can’t stand being corrected. For the record, no one here is getting wound up (although you said “if”), merely replying to five baying hyenas means you have to post five times as frequently. As an earlier poster remarked, don’t let the bullies on here make you leave. Tiresome as they can be.

I can't help wondering why rubber bullets could be used on rioters in northern Ireland (which is supposed to be part of the UK) throwing bricks at the Police but aren't used on these EDL cretins? A brick hitting you on the head will damage a Policeman exactly the same in Yorkshire as Ulster...

The Fatherland
Anglo-Saxons were not Germans. They were Germanic tribes which is different. Pretty pedantic I know but I am so pissed off and upset at these idiots that anything else seems better to think about.
It’s, at best, embarrassing. The news, narrative and images of these right wing thugs is going all around the world.

The Albion has banned a fan before for a tweet that besmirched the Club’s name so could do similar if seen being involved in the rioting.
I suggested yesterday that the FA should call on all English league clubs to revoke STs and impose match bans on all those convicted of participating in the rioting.

In the least, there should be a permanent ban from all England matches - these people have proven they don’t represent England - St George’s flag draped over their shoulders is a travesty.

You can’t pander to racists and there is no justification on earth that legitimises this thuggery. Take their football away from any fans involved.

Good idea, but once convicted.

Shameful and criminal behaviour. Idiots for doing what they're doing and idiots when there are cameras everywhere.

This will pass because the overwhelming majority of us are reasonable people. Many, many immigrants put us to shame with their behaviour and work ethic but no country can keep absorbing illegal immigration.

I am a right of centre voter. I think we need a completely honest and open conversation about getting along and sharing common values and respect for the law of the land. Doesn't help if those on the right are dismissed as 'scum'

I respect all opinions and we need to work together and not be swayed by the actions of a minority.
I would love a sensible debate about it, but we need to first understand the language we are using and what we really mean.
We can easily absorb the numbers of people arriving and making successful asylum claims, because we have a low birth rate, we actually need some migration, and have granted work visas to many more migrants than we have granted asylum.
It isn't a numbers problem, it's the risk of life in how they are trying to get here, it's the speed of claims assessment, its the integration into British life, and in some cases a cultural problem.
Those on the right could avoid the scum label by being a bit more careful to be humane with their language, there has been much careful choice of words to dehumanise asylum claimants in subtle and not so subtle ways, by people who know what they are doing, and unfortunately a lot of it becomes the accepted language.
You have talked about absorbing illegal immigrants, we don't absorb, we deport illegal immigrants, we process asylum claimants, and we deport those that fail, as policy.
This doesn't always work out, as some go missing, it is suspected most of these end up working on the blackmarket for a time, and are vulnerable to exploitation and slavery. Some commit suicide rather than be returned.
Most illegal immigrants are people who entered legally on a student or work visa, or came from a visa free country, and have overstayed.
Most of the people arriving on small boats successfully claim asylum, meaning we have decided in law, that it would be inhumane to return them to their country of origin. We have no option to return anyone to France since leaving the EU.

It wasnt that you had replied, it was how you had replied that I felt wasn't doing yourself any favours, glad it's not got you wound up.

I agree. Language and how words are said is very important. Of course, emphasis and context is open to all sorts of interpretation on a written forum. When I've discussed this, and other politics, at work I've been dismissed as heartless, rascist and a 'Typical Tory' I can't prove that I'm not a racist. Nobody can. You'll have to take my word for it.

Going back to immigratio , the world is in a mess. I think that it's ridiculous to say 'stop the boats' as people are leaving countries that are in ruins. I hope that we can find a way to stabilise those regions and reduce the numbers.

I repeat, there is no excuse for what's happened over the last few days. None at all.

You currently can't be a member of the England Supporters Club if you have any kind of criminal record (even a caution)
