According to The Argus, the police are now separating the two sets of protesters.

Absolutely desperate aren’t they as are all the media

As predicted it’s all pretty much done for now

Police probably feeling bit silly but guess had to show force .

Expect all this will be repeated within 6 months . Nothings gone away from those that attended the protests

Good to see no more damage

Hope life can get back to an even level again

I also don’t agree with some of the counter protesters masking/balaclaving up.

What are they trying to achieve?
The far left hate the police as much if not more than the far right.
it would be very Brighton for the far left to cause the issues, if the far right dont show up tonight and then blame the police.

You're really not answering the question. There is no middle ground between rioting and not rioting. Either you do or you don't. There is no middle ground between racism and non-racism. Either you're a racist or you're not. You can't just be non racist mostly but do a bit of casual abusing of the Chinese at weekends.p

I agree with everything you say.

Perhaps (only my view, not speaking for anyone else) the ‘middle ground’ in this mess is recognising there are serious problems in our society and the riots are a symptom of that. That’s not defending the rioters (who must face the full force of the law) but if we take the line that anyone who shares even a part of their views is simply ‘wrong’, ‘scum’ etc then we will never move forward.

The middle ground, to me, is accepting that people have grievances that we may not share but they are real and need to be considered. That does not condone rioting but it maybe says you don’t want it to happen again.

Why on earth would the police feel silly?

I agree with much of your post but that’s a daft comment.

You do realise the main group aren't suppose to turn up until 8pm right?.
