Protests in London

This is probably just the beginning, the inevitable civil unrest which will be exacerbated by the impending Tory cuts.

Both the left and right are feeling an utter failure of democracy right now. 7.5m UKIP, Green and Lib Dem voters all have every right to feel disgruntled - the 9 million Labour voters won't feel much better.

We have an interesting few years ahead of us.

What utter tosh, sensible people don't take to the streets and paint slogans on war memorials when the civilized majority are remembering VE day, and the sacrifices that many suffered to ensure that we have a democracy where different views are tolerated.

Also it just seems to be the 'in thing' to be anti Tory although they obtained a majority in what is a long established voting system which is understood by all. Violence and civil unrest will not obtain a change.

If the civil unrest does come, no doubt rather than protests we will see those that feel they are entitled to everything on a plate, will be filmed helping themselves to 50" TVs and other expensive electrical and luxury brand goods.

Funny that most people can fully accept the result of the election, even if their party did not gain power. The way to change this is via the ballot box, not violence.

As can be seen locally many people quickly picked up that the Greens were(are) next to useless in everything they do, but waited 4 years to vote them out, rather than deciding to go to the Old Steine demolish the was memorial.

This and people lap up the establishment press feeding out the brain washing .

Incredible we have another 5 years of deepening cuts . How they got voted in is a shock . It must be purely down to the press protecting them and people believing what they read . Can only think the Scottish press is a bit more truthful and they've voted anti austerity .

Good on the protests . Know more than your average joe !

Sadly it's a lot more cynical than that. While the English Sun was printing "Vote Tory" tripe by the page load (as well as pictures of an unfortunate bacon sarnie incident, because THAT'S what matters) the Scottish Sun was off urging its voters to vote SNP. As usual (like when The Sun backed Blair in 97) the Murdoch Press has backed a winner where it doesn't suit its politics and created one where it does. The reason? As played out, 50 odd less seats for Labour PLUS increased circulation.

It was a game of poker Uncle Tony would have been proud of. Murdoch may be a c**t but he's a smart c**t.

Because YOUR vote under Onder oue system does not count.

Yes it does, otherwise millions wouldn't turn out to vote in their area.

I suspect you want a system that prevails in the unions where no one is really interesedt in electing officials so a small clique effectively run things due to the fact that virtually no one bothers to vote.

graffiti over a war memorial is good is it?

you have to be a right prat to support these so called "protesters"

Not particularly but I suppose it gives the Tory voters something to feel righteous about. The memorials they visit once a year and pretend to care while the Tory party tears apart everything the war was ACTUALLY fought for.

Vandalising war memorials? No, not good. Destroying everything these people fought for ? MUCH WORSE.

It's not a surprise they won so many seats when they fought the election on a very anti austerity manifesto. Good for the Jocks, if only we had a mainstream party that came out fighting.

there is no fantasy money tree.

Anti-austerity actually means more borrowing, more debt, wasting ever more on debt interest to pay for things today and then dumping the bill on the next generation.

these are dickhead students and anarchists being led astray by trade unions wounded that their puppet was just rejected. they wont accept the situation, they'll try and cause chaos.

60 million population of the UK so not that many really. I think more people watch the left leaning BBC.

That'll be the BBC whose Chief Political Correspondent was a former President of the Oxford University Conservative Association (Nick Robinson) and World Affairs Editor wrote regularly for the Tory edited Spectator.

Of course the Beeb have a few journalists with a lefty past too which is why they're acknowledged as neutral.

You can do your own Googling this time.

And while you're at it ask yourself who owns Sky News whose channel appears numerically above the BBC on every satellite and cable system in the country distributed by Sky or Virgin.

And now we're end up paying for it.

Anybody you see on TV,who is being paid to be there is either a Tory or a closet Tory.
These people are rich. They do not want to give up their riches.
A culling of the poor, old and sick is well on the way!
