I accept that there are people on here who have issues with McGhee, season ticket prices, seats being moved etc.

But it's getting close to the end of the season, we are waist deep in a relegation fight, and we're at home on Saturday.

We need the points, badly. I can't see how a few people launching a protest against the board/manager/anything else during the game can possibly be of any constructive use. I am more interested in three points than whinges about what may or may not be going on behind the scenes, and I doubt the players will be motivated by protests either.

Why not devote your efforts to getting behind the team, for 90 minutes at least, and if you still want to protest afterwards, fine, do it. But lets at least try and give the team a bit of confidence and support in the first instance.

On the other hand, protests sometimes get results. I'm thinking of Millwall fans at half-time at Withdean on New Year's Eve. And Newcastle have hit an immediate vein of form since ditching Souness. Perfectly sound to fully get behind the CLUB while making your displeasure known to the MANAGER. Doesn't necessarily make you a Bad Fan IMHO. Because we ARE the club. Without us it dies. The manager, on the other hand, is just passing through. SOMEBODY's got to put the pressure on him, tell him he could be doing better. Just like a manager in any other walk of life really. Our ratio of Wins to Games Played SUCKS BIGTIME, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

Not me, matey. I'm just saying I'd have no problem with anybody that did. Cos it seems to me that some of the most vehement anti-McGhee posters on here are also some of the most pro-Albion fans. I think (fuckit I KNOW) it's possible to be both.

It's an absolute must to get behind the team on Saturday - fair enough if you've got issues with McGhee get over it between when you get in the ground and leave and give the team 100% support. 3 points is what Saturday is about, 3pts that could take us two points behind Sheff Weds.

Fine post Edna, some of the most intelligent things said about McGhee and the team for a long time.

I will be behind the TEAM and MCGHEE on sat.

I don't think it's intelligent at all. I think it's knee-jerk, unintelligent, happy-clappy. Just think about Jim In The West aka ballooonboy, arranging several thousand blue'n'white balloons in the South Stand last Saturday. Takes some doing. Looked GRAND, about the most visible way possible of 'getting behind the team'.

And the fuckers were STILL 2-0 down after five minutes. In a six pointer. Against the team one place up from us. And there's McGhee in the post-match interview saying we won 1-0 in the last 85 minutes. Ho-ho. Now there's the words of a man who knows the board can't AFFORD to sack him. But I think they should anyway. Just for shits & giggles, like

Just won't DO :nono:

Get behind the team I will, annoyed at the season renewals yes.

However the bigger picture is supporting the club come what may.

So, standing behind the dugout shouting McGhee out or whatever, would of stopped us going 2-0 down then?

No, not at all. But I want the manager (like any manager in any business anywhere) to tell me how he's going to improve things. Or failing that, I want HIS manager to tell me. Especially in Season Ticket Renewal week. I mean, DOH! :dunce:
