Protests? Don't be stupid, we need points

I accept that there are people on here who have issues with McGhee, season ticket prices, seats being moved etc.

But it's getting close to the end of the season, we are waist deep in a relegation fight, and we're at home on Saturday.

We need the points, badly. I can't see how a few people launching a protest against the board/manager/anything else during the game can possibly be of any constructive use. I am more interested in three points than whinges about what may or may not be going on behind the scenes, and I doubt the players will be motivated by protests either.

Why not devote your efforts to getting behind the team, for 90 minutes at least, and if you still want to protest afterwards, fine, do it. But lets at least try and give the team a bit of confidence and support in the first instance.

I don't blindly follow the club.

I am not one of the Saga coach to away games breed who sees no evil, hears no evil, speaks no evil.

I am not someone who wants the whole ground to be full of cheery, giant-foam-hand-waving unquestioning devotees who never question anything and sing only happy songs.

But I'm also realistic enough to believe that

(1) McGhee does not deserve sacking at this stage, we are unfortunately pretty much where all REALISTIC Albion fans believed we'd be at this stage (ok, maybe a couple of places lower but what's that?), given our facilities and funds. And I don't see anyone else who would miraculously turn this group of players into world beaters, or who has billions of pounds going spare in order to fund new players

(2) Singing McGhee Out for 90 minutes on Saturday will NOT motivate the team, and right now, I'm only interested in the players getting themselves really up for the Watford game, and giving 100%, as opposed to them thinking "f**k it, the crowd can't be bothered, so I'll just sit on my arse, my job's safe".

The people that sit around me have been moaning every game for 5 years I doubt they are going to change this weekend. That's the North Stand for you I guess.

We are where we are and there's not a lot we can do about it so let's all get behind the team and quit whinging.

And praise the Lord for that.

Fair play to the guy in the North Stand wheelchair section, his efforts to get the people around him to sing were spectacular, not to mention loud, but I couldn't sit next to that every week.

There's only so many times "There's only two of us singing" can be funny.

Bring on the happy folk of the South stand

quite possibly the BEST thing written on NSC in months (apart from my anti-James Blunt thread & Dean Saunders for Manager), Edna you always talk decent and this is no exception...all hail the Queen of COMMON SENSE!

The potential for support from the crowd will be helped by the fact that a large proportion of the Magoo out brigade on NSC can't be ARSed to go to Withdean anyway.

Would probably have to question that sentiment slightly, much as I think you're right to concentrate on supporting them!
