If it's true that the fee is as low as 5 million euros then I think they've had our pants down there. He's a much better player than that.

Not sure I agree with you. He cost us c.£10m, we've had a few years out of him - some where he was pivotal - but now he can;t get a place in a lower Prem side or matchday squad sometimes. Feels like a smart compromise for us to get a decent, if not special, price, free up the wages and give him the chance to shine in a less taxin league as he heads towards his 30s (30 in Sept).

Swings and roundabouts, Veltman is worth much more than 900k

And Propper's value based on his fee and contract duration is probably around £2m in the club accounts. If we are getting around £5m, the club would likely see that as good business and a smart time to sell. I rate Davy but Moder, Alzate and even Caicedo are all better options - with much more upside if they are getting PL minutes.

As above, we can add in the remaining 2 years of his perhaps £40k/week contract to the 'value' of this transfer - an extra £4M or so available for the club.

Even though we know he's a decent player its difficult to justify a high fee with as little minutes as he played last season. We've got a fee and wages off the books. Maybe would could have got more but if we start demanding loads the sale just wouldnt happen.

I think it is a decent fee tbh.

We have about £3million left of his purchase price to amortise on the accounts ( over 2 more seasons ) and his wages will be around £2million per season.

So he would have contributed over £3million to this seasons loss. Instead if we sell for £5million it is about a £2million profit on these accounts.

( Rough figures to illustrate ).

The squad is monstrously big. We simply have to make some sales.

Born and raised in henfield . Have ended up living in Wiltshire, due to work.
We are back in henfield quite a lot to see family and Albion games (pre covid and kids ).
That neck of the woods is the best part of the best county IMO.
I’d love to live there again . Not cowfold obvs

As was my Dad. My grandfather worked at Cruttendens bakery on the corner of Church Street.

I will be sad to see Davy leave but a team is always changing and I wish him all the best.

Never have l seen a small country village with more bakers shops, four until quite recently, Barnards, Truffles, The Deli, and another whose name escapes me. All in a village with a population of 5,000 people.

As for Davy, if he could only have added to his meagre goals tally, then l would have been even sorrier to see him go.

Yeah, so we’ve loaded up on bakeries.
What have you got?
I can answer that.
A couple of roundabouts.

Thanks for everything Davy. An absolutely integral part of our first few seasons in the Premier League.

Stephens and Propper will a midfield duo who will stick in my mind for many years .
