Best for both parties, Davy gets to go home, and play regular football again for one of the Erivedisie's best sides, and the Albion get a competent, but far from brilliant player. off their ewage bill and free up a place in the squad.

Not sure where this take has come from...
He played pretty much every game in GP's first season and then suffered from injuries this season. Whilst injured, Bissouma became one of the best players in the league, ex-England player Adam Lallana arrived and Pascal Gross continued to be an important contributor.

Maybe these other players were brought in because Propper didn’t do the hard yards and Gross has certainly stepped it up this season. Propper hardly got a sniff even when he was fit. In quite a few games two seasons ago Propper dallied on the ball, we lost it, the opposition scored. Much the same as Goldson was replaced by Duffy because he wasn’t dominant enough in the box for a challenging Championship team, I think Propper is on his way out because he doesn’t do the chasing back and tackling that Potter demands.
It’s my opinion not an Albion endorsed fact

Always a joy to watch when he had the ball but his lack of pace and chase always made us vulnerable when not in possession. As we progress there was no way he could play in the same line up as Gross, no team can be that slow in the engine room and win too many games. He’s been a good servant for us in the prem but time to move onwards and (hopefully) upwards.

If you look at Premier League era players for us, I’d put him in the same bracket as the likes of Duffy, Stephens and Ryan. Dunk, Murray, Bissouma & Groß are probably a level up in terms of quality and the amount of matches played along with what they have given to the side but Davy has been a brilliant servant to the club.

Fair enough but I’m not even going to begin to compare him with Biss last season, apart from shooting, they are very comparable on that score.. My recollection is of a very skilful player who often went missing when the going got tough and I am shocked at those stats you have put up. My eyes told me he was not that combative most of the time and much too slow for the way we try to play now.
I’m not letting facts get in the way of that

While recognising the realities of the situation, I would be very sad to see him go. A class player and not deserving of some of the dismissive comments registered on here.

I agree in part, and we did see glimpses of brilliance from him back in the Hughton era. For whatever reason though he hasn't really been part of the set up under Potter and we have seen next to nothing of him.
Sad, but l can see the reasons for him leaving.

I don't know that Davy excited me as such, but l can see that he is a classy player. A shame in my opinion that we never played him a bit further forward, he was always part of that rigid formation of Chris Hughton's. If he had the chance to roam a bit more, we might have seen a few goals from him. The lack of them was always his greatest drawback in a Brighton shirt.

We won promotio with a midfield of essentially Stephens, Kayal and Sidwell. We started our PL campaign without Kayal and Sidwell available, for one reason or another. Without Propper and Gross at that time we'd have been f*cked. For three seasons Propper has been a major part of our team.
Rightly or wrongly, he isn't vital now. It's brutal, but it's called moving on - we're building a young team, and it's move on or die (well, move on or get relegated anyway). Back to Dutchland seems an all round good move for Propper, the club, and whichever Dutchland club he goes to. I think it's the right time to move him on, however appealing his hair might be to some. He's been a good buy by the recruitment team. Now time for thanks and move on.

He did a decent enough job and was obviously paid a ridiculous amount for doing so as all Premier League players are. Personally I'll be glad to see him go as he's not worth keeping now if we want to progress. I won't miss him like Knocky or Bruno etc.
