Honestly can't see any point in running by-elections in these seats. Will just be a waste of tax payers money, which is better spent elsewhere.

The Tories will only increase their share of the votes in most of the seats, with the way that Labour & UKIP are now performing in recent council & national by elections.

We are currently living in an undemocratic democracy, where there is no effective or worthwhile opposition to the current government.

Yes but in fact he's not correct. Common usage has transformed the meaning of the word to 'destroyed'. Its a bit like the word 'significant' which to interviewers on radio 5 means 'important' or 'meaningful' whereas to arch-hole academics like me it means P<0.05.

That said I draw the line at 'bought' in its common usage as a posh way of saying 'brought'. And its not just Daily Fail readers who say it -I know one Guardianista . . . .

you may have missed it, but the bill was passed in the commons by 494 to 122. thats passed by parliament, not the government.

20 seats in question, as claimed involved, does not invalidate the entire parliament. if you want to go down this route, all other legislation is affected, including the Finance bill, so no income taxes to collect.
