Hmm, Elvis must've hated black chaps like Arthur Crudup for "That's Alright Mama", and Little Richard (who was basically unknown to the white audience back then) when he sang "Tutti Frutti". Blaxploitation wasn't usually done that way, by singing their music yet vilifying them as a racist would.
Elvis knew blues, and he knew gospel, and I really cannot see how any fan (especially not a musician singer) of both those genres of music can also be racist.

As for the 'under-age girls' accusation, he may have done the nasty with some teen nubile, I wouldn't know about that .

They may be good musicians and their inoffensive, radio-friendly records obviously do appeal to many, but they are doing nothing that hasn't been done before, and in many cases better.

I don't like Coldplay, but I don't dislike them, they just don't do anything for me. They do come across as smug, ignorant wankers too, which doesn't help.

They're nowhere near as bad as Travis though.

Coldplay are a very decent band. Know a couple of people who've seen them live (fairly reluctantly) at festivals and admitted that playing live, they are actually pretty good.

Annoys me when I see these kind of posts as EVERYONE has different tastes.
I see people slate them and say that they're a load of depressing shit and then name other bands who are sooo much better.

Chances are that others then think those bands are proper shit but they don't start a thread all about it......
